Art and a Croissant in Central Park, NYC

November 8, 2010 Adventures of Darcy the Yorkie

The autumn day in Central Park was too nice to just see the Balto statue and Darcy insisted that I take him to stomp around in the fallen leaves on his new leash so, who can say no to that cute puppy face?

So we headed to the Mall. Don’t get excited shop-o-holics, not a shopping mall. The Central Park Mall has many statues of historical figures and my favorite is…

…this William Shakespeare by famous American sculptor John Quincy Adams Ward.

Darcy’s is so predictable. His favorite, of course is…

…this J.Q.A. Ward sculpture from 1806.

…we saw newlyweds kissing in the park- so romantic!

“Mom, I’m exhausted. I’m just going to sunbathe on this bench”. So, since I was Darcy was craving a croissant, we went to…

…a cafe in the Park, Le Pain Quotidien. Not as good as France (but I expected that). It’s all because the butter is so much better in France- I’ve officially been incredibly spoiled after having the most tasty butter in the world!

And as Darcy tried his first croissant, he listened to me blabber about lovely days eating croissants from the bakery below my apartment while living in Paris.

What a doll she is just adorable & such a brave pup, my Neo is afraid of any statue, he walks as far away from them as possible, keeps his head down and his eyes up.

That’s very funny that he is scared of statues! I wonder if he thinks they are real. Darcy has been really brave so far but the other day he was scared of a pineapple :)

Even though I have a wee pup myself, I can't get over the cuteness of Darcy…he's so petite you could eat him in one bite! =)
