Naked Men Lead the Way in Paris
May 6, 2010 MuseumChick
Following the naked men to the front of the Frank Gehry building located in the beautiful Jardins Bercy in Paris. This is the only Gehry building in Paris.
Now that's something you wont see in the U.S.A….naked men lining the building windows facing the park and a kids' carousel! You should see the other side…But I won't be putting up that picture!
This contemporary building is now home of the Cinémathèque Française, but once was the American Center in Paris. It was the American Center's home until they went under financially leaving the building vacant for almost a decade until the Cinémathèque Française scooped it up.
I discovered it on my way to the Parc de Bercy and my favorite secret spot nearby, The Garden of Yitzhak Rabin, which I will be showing you in a future post. It's a quiet haven in busy Paris with vineyards and trellises covered with flowering vines that you can walk through or read a book under.
But back to Gehry…
I just love spotting modern architecture in Paris since it is relatively scarce. You can come to this Gehry building to see a French movie, relax in the park or have a drink in the cafe. I didn't catch a movie while I was here. I haven't been able to get into French movies since moving here. I realize it's an art I should expose myself to while living here so with my four more months left in Paris I will, at some point, and maybe even blog about it!

Hi Danee,
This is beautiful architecture and the idea of just grabbing a coffee or a French movie here is pretty wonderful.
I'd love for you to write for Pink Pangea (http://pinkpangea.com), a travel site specifically geared towards women travelers. Submit a photo of yourself in France or any other country you've visited and write a post about your experiences, providing some tips for other women travelers to that country.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Rachel
